We need people to look at staying fit as a part of their lifestyle as opposed to something they blindly follow. Being an asthma patient back when I was only 10, I chose fitness as a mode of recovery and to nurture self confidence. I didn’t spend my days lifting, I started off with boxing and martial arts and trained under the guidance of Master Renil Fernando, who is a well-known Martial Arts Teacher in Sri Lanka. I remember him saying, “you have to become a challenge to your own self.” Those words shaped my vision of the fitness industry and I’m here to help people believe in fitness for the right reasons and champion being a fellow FitChap.
